Lardpony are a 4-piece indie-pop band from Derby, UK. They released their first album, "This Is Lardcore", on 17th April 2006. It received airplay on BBC Radio 1 DJ Rob Da Bank's show [http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/huwstephens/tracklistingarchive.shtml?070419] . A second album, "The Greatest Invention Ever", was released on 16th April 2007, and received further Radio 1 airplay, this time from Huw Stephens [http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/huwstephens/tracklistingarchive.shtml?070419] [http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/huwstephens/tracklistingarchive.shtml?070315] .

The band completed a short tour in 2006 and have supported the likes of The Research, Mates of State, Boyracer, data Panik, Mirah, Milky Wimpshake, Chikinki and Yumi Yumi [http://www.bowlie.com/forum/nottingham/19852-mirah-milky-wimpshake-lardpony-june-19th-nottingham.html] .

In 2004, bassist Dave Williams (also of Plans & Apologies) left the band and was replaced by Nathan Wilson. The band are currently on hiatus, due to keyboard player Mandy McKirdy expecting her first child in September 2007.
