Charlie Robles

Charlie Robles

Charlie Robles was a musician. He was born April 15 1943, in Jayuya, Puerto Rico. Famous for his go-go/garage stylings as featured on the "Amor Internacional" single on Rico-Vox Records, Robles had a simple but catch-laden style.

At the age of 14, he left for New York and began violin lessons with professor Pepito Figueroa Sanabria for three years.

In 1967, Charlie Robles went to South Carolina where he joined the military. He continued singing in the military. By 1969, Robles earned a master's degree and returned to his artistic tendencies.

Eventually, he returned to Puerto Rico and became a pop culture singing superstar to teens, with the help of Alfred D. Herger.
