The village is around 10 to 15 km north of the island capital ofVila do Maio and about 6 km south ofMorrinho and it is linked with a road with the road that encircles the entire island. The village is located in the western part of the island and is situated in A dry climate and it receives little precipitation annually. Farmlands are the island's most common and are mainly of cattle, groves and some fruits and vegetables and rarely some fruit productions and are nearly the size of the football field and its only has about tens of farms, some foodstuffs are received from the northern and the southern parts of the nation as well as the island. The area are predominantly flat covering much of the area except for the southeastern portion which are mountainous and hilly and it covers approximately one-third of the area around parish. Its soil color ranges from tan to red. A promontory is situated west.

The village is in the island's low to mid class. Most of the houses are built with stone and concrete, several houses are built with either steel reinforced concrete or with stone and wood, a few homes are made up of mud and brick.
