Eamon Ryan (born 1963) is an Irish Green Party politician. He is a Teachta Dála (TD) for Dublin South and is currently Minister for Communications, Energy & Natural Resources. Before being appointed a minister, Ryan was party spokesperson on Transport, Enterprise, Trade and Employment and Communications, Marine and Natural Resources. He was also a staunch supporter of the Shell to Sea campaign, and attended many of its protests (see picture).

Ryan was born in Dublin and first became involved in politics in 1998 when he was appointed to Dublin City Council. He topped the poll in the local elections the following year. In 2002 he was elected to Dáil Éireann as a TD for Dublin South.

He announced on 13 September 2004 that he intended to ask his party to nominate him as a candidate for the 2004 presidential election. However, when it was announced that the incumbent, Mary McAleese, was seeking a second term he withdrew.

He was re-elected in the 2007 general election. Following the Green Party's decision to enter into a coalition government with Fianna Fáil and the Progressive Democrats on 13 June 2007, Ryan was appointed to the cabinet as Minister for Communications, Energy & Natural Resources by the Taoiseach when the 30th Dáil sat the following day.

Ryan has been criticised for failing to honour commitments he and his party made to launch an enquiry into the Corrib gas controversy to construct a pipeline and gas refinery in Erris, County Mayo, should the Greens enter governmentfact|date=September 2008.
