Tape letters

Tape letters

Tape letters are recorded personal messages exchanged using audio media, typically the compact cassette. They became a novelty with the advent of the compact cassette tape, often sent in the mail in an envelope. Once the letter is received, the receiving individual would play the cassette tape in a cassette tape player to hear the audible message recorded by the sender.
