Baikushev's Pine

The Baikushev's Pine ( _bg. Байкушевата мура) is a coniferous tree from the species Bosnian Pine ("Pinus heldreichii") situated in Pirin, southwestern Bulgaria. It is called after his discoverer the forest-guard Baikushev. It is located close to the Banderitsa refuge on the road between Bansko and Vihren refuge. The tree dates from more than 1,300 years which makes it one of the oldest in the country and contemporary of modern Bulgaria's first Khan, Asparukh. Its approximate size is: height 24 m; diameter 2,2 m; circumference 7.8m.
