mathematician and currently a Professor of Pure Mathematics atImperial College London . He specialises inalgebraic number theory .He obtained a B.A. degree (Parts I & II) in Mathematics at the
University of Cambridge , and went sunsequently on to complete the C.A.S.M. (Part III). From October to December 2002 he held a visiting professorship atHarvard University , having previously worked at theInstitute for Advanced Study, Princeton (1995), theUniversity of California Berkeley (1996-7), and theInstitute Henri Poincaré in Paris (2000).
