This species is common on intertidal mudflats in sheltered situations. It is associated with eel grass.
hell description
The shell is moderately large, ovate-cylindrical, of light yellowish-brown and densely marbled in reddish-brown. The distinguishing features are the elongated shape without a median outer lip concavity, presence of spiral striations around the base, and a moderately wide apical cavity showing spiralling of the suture within.
The shell height is up to 48 mm, and the width is up to 29 mm.
