This is a list of Anglican
bishop s and archbishops of the Diocese of Sydney and its predecessor the Diocese of Australia.From 1788 to 1836 the Colony of New South Wales was part of the Diocese of Calcutta. In 1836, the first Bishop of Australia was enthroned and the Diocese of Australia formed. Between 1845 and 1849 various parts of the Diocese of Australia were spun off into their own dioceses and remainder became the Diocese of Sydney. The Diocese of Sydney has been led by an
