Eric Kearney is a Democratic member of the Ohio Senate, representing the 9th District since his appointment in November 2005. The district is comprised almost entirely of Cincinnati. [http://www.law.uc.edu/current/06counKearney/index.html]

Kearney was appointed following Mark Mallory's victory in Cincinnati's 2005 mayoral election. [http://blackcincinnati.blogspot.com/2005/11/dems-replace-mallory-with-eric-kearney.html] He was elected to a full four-year term in 2006, collecting 71% of the vote.

In his time in the State Senate, Kearney has been a strong advocate for small business and improving health care.

He received his JD from the University of Cincinnati Law School, and his AB in English from Dartmouth College.

Kearney is a strong supporter of Senator Barack Obama's 2008 Presidential Campaign. He is a co-chair of the Ohio campaign.
