Ryan International School

Ryan International School

Ryan International School is an educational institution in India. It runs schools in many cities including Mumbai, Bangalore, New Delhi, Faridabad and Gurgaon. It is a subsidiary of St. Xaviers group, India, and is led by its chairman Dr. Augustine Pinto, who is considered a strong visionary in the education sectorFact|date=December 2007.

History

The Ryan International School, as said as one of the many institutions in the Ryan International Group of Institutions, was not started in this very form. In fact, the Ryan International School is one of the new institutions in this group. The group was started as Fr. Agnelo High School, Malad(Mumbai) in 1976. Among the latter schools of the group, the first most prominent one is St. Xavier's Group of Schools, which is, in numbers, more than individual Ryan International Schools, however evidently the Ryan International Schools have gained during a shorter course of time, higher recognition in the quality-and-fees oriented scenario of Indian academical world. The School itself was founded in 1991, by current 'Founder-Chairman' Dr. Augustine F. Pinto, and 'Managing Director' of the institution Grace Pinto.

Management

The Ryan International Group of Institutions(RIGI), today quite-some governs the of Ryan International Schools and majority of the schools that are in the group(as presided and/or founded by Dr. Augustine F. Pinto). However it is unclear whether the St. Xavier's Schools are separately governed by the St. Xavier's Group of Schools(SXGS) management. The dilemma can be figured out by the fact the question papers, especially those of higher standards (say all standards of the secondary section i.e. classes 6, 7, 8, 9, 10) are printed at a press in Mumbai, under the adherence of Central Board of Secondary Education, C.B.S.E. Since the question papers bear the name R.C.B.S.E.(R is Ryan). It may also be noted that some Institutions follow the Central Board, while some, the Maharashtra Sate Board, and still others the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education(ICSE/ISE) board. As such the website provides for a figure of "107 institutions in 15 states with over 2,00,000 students and 10,000 strong staff.", where the states are the Indian States.

Hallmarks

The Institution, holds a very prominent name in the Indian scenario of academics, where not many schools offer a low range of fees than many competitors , at par the quality of Education. It holds many prominent events, on national and international platforms like the Indian National Model United Nations, INMUN,first held in 2001, ,at Delhi; which is small scale replication of the United Nations, involving the students to represent various nations, highlight their history, problems, and features etc. Yet another feature is the International Festival of Performing Arts, commonly known as "Theatre Festival", that brings students of many different nations together for representation of various performing arts.Other holdings include the Ryan International Sports Club, that holds Ryan Sports Meets at various districts of St. Xavier's And Ryan Schools; and the making of the film Chikki, by the students themselves, now featuring a place in the Limca Book of Records(in India), for the first In-House Broadcasting Station as "Ryan TV".The School and its students have been seen excelling in various academically and international fields, rightly so, making the esteemed position of the institution.
