Ryan's Well Foundation

Ryan's Well Foundation is a non-profit organization located in Kemptville, Ontario, Canada. It was founded in 2001 by Ryan Hreljac with the focus of raising funds to enable clean water projects and health-related initiatives in African nations and other developing countries. According to the foundation's website, it has contributed to 394 water and sanitation facilities that support over half a million people in 15 developing countries. History

Ryan Hreljac created the foundation with the help of his parents in 2001 to help:

- BUILD (Raising fund for water and sanitation projects)- EDUCATE (Educating on water and sanitation facts)- MOTIVATE (Motivating future leaders)

Current projects

At present, the foundation is engaged in many water and sanitation projects in several developing countries. These projects are primarily located in Uganda, with other projects in Lesotho, India, Guatemala, Ghana, and Ethiopia.

Youth in Action

In conjunction with the Canadian International Development Agency, the Ryan's Well Foundation operates a program called Youth in Action that aims to educate school students of the importance of clean water. It also attempts to teach students to become "active, responsible citizens" and attempts to call attention to issues related to water, sanitation, and general activism. Among the issues the program addresses are the Development section of the United Nation's Water for Life Decade and the Development section of the Millennium Declaration.
