- Triathlon at the 2008 Summer Olympics
Triathlon competition at the2008 Summer Olympics , inBeijing , was held onAugust 18 (women) andAugust 19 (men), at theMing Tomb Reservoir inShisanling . Each competitor started the event with a convert|1500|m|mi swim course, followed by a convert|40|km|mi road bicycle race and finished with a convert|10|km|mi road run. Both leg transitions (swimming—cycling and cycling—running) were performed on a special transition area, under judge's scrutiny.
