Women's events
7.5 km sprint
China's three top-25 athletes by the World Cup ranking swept the medals; no other competitor had managed to win World Cup points this season, except for China's Yin Qiao, who was ranked 38th but missed five times to finish seventh. Dong had been the best thus far in the World Cup season, having been ranked as highly as seventh, though Kong had a sprint World Cup podium from Hochfilzen. However, it was 29-year-old Liu, with seventh place from the second sprint in Hochfilzen as the best this season but a World Championship silver medal from 2005, who prevailed over her younger compatriots due to better skiing than Kong and better shooting than Dong.
10 km pursuit
Faster skiing and better shooting gave Kong the gold medal.
