Bottle Caps (candy)

Bottle Caps (candy)

Bottle Caps are candies sold by Nestlé under their Willy Wonka Candy Company brand.

The candies are made to look like metal soda bottle caps, and come in grape, cola, orange, root beer, and cherry flavors. They have a generally sweet but slightly sour taste to them, not wholly dissimilar to Ce De Candy, Inc.'s "Smarties" ("Rockets" outside the U.S.), but with soda flavors.

Bottle Caps come in packages weighing 0.51 oz (14 g) and contain approximately 10 pieces. They also can be purchased in a box containing 48 packages, or in small individually wrapped pouches of two candies, which are often given out as Halloween treats in the U.S. They may also come in a box with 6 oz (170 g) of the candies.

In the past, Bottle Caps contained a lemon-lime flavor instead of the current cherry flavor.

Ingredients

The 6oz box in the US lists the following ingredients: Dextrose, maltodextrin, and less than 2% of calcium stearate, malic acid, artificial flavors, Blue 1 Lake, Blue 2 Lake, Red 40 Lake, Yellow 5 Lake, Yellow 6 Lake.
