State Road 243 is located in the west central part of Indiana. Its northern terminus is U.S. Route 40 in Putnamville. Its southern terminus is State Road 42 at Cunot. An interchange with Interstate 70 provides easy access to Leiber State Recreation Area, which features the man-made Cagles Mill Lake and Cataract Falls, the state's largest waterfalls. Cagles Mill and Dam are also an attraction. The road also is an alternative route from Interstate 70 to US 40.
