Arbab Jehangir Khan

Arbab Jehangir Khan Khalil (August 1, 1936 – October 16, 2007) regarded as chief of the Khalil tribe, was a Pakistani politician who hailed from the North-West Frontier Province. He served as the 14th Chief Minister from April 7, 1985 to May 29, 1988 and then as the Leader of opposition in the NWFP assembly from 1989-1990. He also served as Federal Minister for Petroleum Resources, Federal Capital, Narcotics control and Senior Minister NWFP.

He was born at the home of Nawab Arbab Sher Ali Khan. A lawyer by profession, he earned the distinction of being electorally undefeated in every election he contested in his 32 year political career before retiring from politics. He had a colourful political career having joined and defected from almost every major political party before settling in the Pakistan's People Party.
