Surjeet Singh (chess player)

Surjeet Singh is a Fijian of Indian descent who has made valuable contribution to the development of Chess in Fiji.

He re-vitalised the University of the South Pacific Chess Club.

He was a founder member of the Fiji Chess Federation. He rose through the ranks to be the President in 1988. He promoted chess through the establishment of chess clubs and teaching chess through face-to-face classes and using the print media.

He was one of the leading chess players in Fiji in the 1980s. He represented Fiji in the Chess Olympiad in 1986 and 1988 as the captain and board 1 player.
