HMAS "Parramatta" (FFH 154) is an
Anzac class frigate of theRoyal Australian Navy (RAN).Construction
"Parramatta" was laid down by
Tenix Defence Systems atWilliamstown, Victoria on 5 June 1999. The vessel was launched by Mrs Green, daughter of the executive officer of the second "Parramatta", Lieutenant George Langford, on 17 June 2000 and commissioned into the RAN on 4 October 2003.Operational history
In 2005, HMAS "Parramatta" was sent for 6 months service in the
Persian Gulf as part ofOperation Catalyst , returning her 187 crew toSydney on 13 April 2006. During this duty period, her crew carried out 186 vessel boardings and security patrols. She was also involved in training other vessels in the Iraq Coalition.
