Peter Max Lawrence (born March 19, 1977 in Topeka, Kansas) is a contemporary media artist working within painting, video installation, sculpture, photography and drawing. San Francisco Art Institute's History Professor Sharon Grace stated that Lawrence "is one of the most relevant American artists of this emerging generation."

Lawrence directed and starred his first feature-length film, Something to Trade (2008) which was based on his critically acclaimed short Queer in Kansas [http://petermaxlawrence.com/Art/MOVIE/QIK/QIK_default.html] (2007).

Other artists Lawrence has collaborated with over the years include Krystle Warren, Amy Whitehead, Monica Peck, Deldelp Medina, Peter Dobey, Chelsea America Torres, Jane Sommerhauser, Rebecca Parks-Ramage and Tony Labat.
