Nesting Dolls is the thirteenth episode in the of the popular American crime drama "", set in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Plot Summary

Catherine, Warrick, Nick and Sara investigate two bodies buried in tar. When the case goes in the direction of spousal abuse from a man who had a mail-order wife, Sara becomes very emotionally involved and clashes with Catherine and Conrad Ecklie, landing her in a week of suspension without pay. Grissom speaks with her and a terrible truth about her past is revealed, that her mother stabbed her abusive father to death. Sara mentions that before her mother killed her father, she thought the violence and yelling was "how everyone lived". The case is closed when evidence leads them to the mail-order husband. Ecklie wants Grissom to fire Sara, but Grissom refuses and Ecklie backs down.
