Plot
When J.D. shows symptoms of vasovagal syncope, a condition which results in fainting or blackouts whenever he defecates, he finds himself not only having to deal with losing his girlfriend and his apartment, but also his consciousness. Elliot and Turk argue over whose turn it is to take care of their perpetually luckless friend. Through a freak accident, J.D. ends up taped to the ceiling for several hours, during which time he witnesses other people complaining about their lives the same way he does; he soon realizes what a burden he is being to his friends, and decides to deal with his problems on his own.
Meanwhile, Carla tries out her new excuse: "I have a baby". Elsewhere, the Janitor appears to have gone on a cruise vacation for janitors. Finally, a Serbian surgeon named Miloš comes to Sacred Heart, but he has to repeat his residency in the US. He outperforms the other surgical residents, and his cocky attitude irritates Turk.
Competition
In this episode J.D. wears the shirt that was designed by the winner of a competition on Threadless. The t-shirt appears in the scene where J.D. is on his half acre when the police arrive. The t-shirt's design has a man with his arm stuck in a vending machine - making reference to Turk's situation while his daughter was being born in "My Best Friend's Baby's Baby and My Baby's Baby" where Turk got his hand stuck in an ice machine and also when Turk got his hand stuck in a vending machine after not receiving his intended product ("I paid for my Rolos, I'm getting my Rolos") in "My Jiggly Ball."[1]
