Marsha Rhea is a futurist with the
Institute for Alternative Futures . As a futurist, she helps organizations learn about their future, discover new directions for their leadership, innovate new ways to respond to opportunities, and collaborate to create a preferred future.Currently, Marsha Rhea is the lead futurist on
Vision 2021 , a major study of the future of schools and the principalship, for theNational Association of Elementary School Principals . She is the author of "Anticipate the World You Want: Learning for Alternative Futures", published in 2005 by Rowman & Littlefield Education. The book advocates for schools to empower people to be creators of their preferred future.Prior to becoming a futurist in 2001, Rhea held executive leadership positions for the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE), National Recycling Coalition, and the American Subcontractors Association. She began her association career working for two state school boards associations. Ms. Rhea earned a masters degree in public administration from George Mason University and is a summa cum laude graduate of Georgetown College in Kentucky.
