André Léri (
1875 -September 8 ,1930 } was a Frenchneurologist who was born inParis . He received he doctorate in 1904 from theUniversity of Paris where he studied underJoseph Babinski (1857-1932) andPierre Marie (1853-1940). During World War I, Léri was in charge of diagnosing soldiers with battle-inflicted neuroses.Although skilled in the field of neurology, Léri is mainly remembered for his contributions made in
osteology , especially his research concerning bone disorders. He described a type of mesomelicdwarfism combined with deformedforearm s, which was to become known asLéri-Weill dyschondrosteosis .With Pierre Marie, the Marie-Léri syndrome is named, which is a rare hand disorder caused byosteolysis .Bibliography
