Rotvoll

Rotvoll

Rotvoll is an area of Trondheim, Norway located between Leangen to the west and Ranheim to the east. The area has some suburban housing and is otherwise dominated by the StatoilHydro research facility and Sør-Trøndelag University College campus for teacher education. Rotvoll is served by city buses and by Rotvoll Station on Trønderbanen, the commuter train in Trøndelag.

The area is also known for its rich bird life and has been suggested protected several times. When the Statoil facility was built there in the 1991, it resulted in civil disobedience as the climax of the Rotvoll controversy.
