Walter's Hot Dog

Walter's Hot Dog Stand was originally established by Walter Warrington in 1919. It was a roadside stand selling only hot dogs and sodas down by Harbor Island in Mamaroneck, NY. After gaining so much appeal Walter decided to expand his business and build the chinese pagoda building, currently located on Palmer Avenue. Due to its unique architecture, the building itself was named a historical landmark by Westchester County. It is now owned by Eugene Warrington and is a family run business with four generations of family that currently work at Walter's. It is world famous due to its high quality hot dog made of beef, pork and veal that can only be found at Walter's. They also sell their own blend of mustard that combines mustard with little bits of relish. Walters menu also includes homemade ice cream, milk-shakes, homemade italian ice and italian ice freezes and different types of french-fries. You can purchase Walter's Hot Dogs souveniers and also the famous mustard. Walter's was voted the number one hot dog in America by Gourmet magazine. It was voted the best roadside stand in Westchester in 1994 to 2004.Fact|date=February 2007

The building was declared a historical site in 1991 by Westchester County.

The stand was praised in an article by Alice Gabriel in the New York Times of September 3, 2006.

Walter's Hot Dogs is located at 937 Palmer Avenue in Mamaroneck, New York. The building is in the shape of a pagoda.

In recent years, Walter's attempted to expand. One such location, which was known to people driving by the storefront, was in Danbury, Connecticut.
