NRSC Pledge

NRSC Pledge

In U.S. politics, the NRSC Pledge is a petition on a website to promise to refuse to support any Republican senator who does not support the surge in troops that U.S. President George W. Bush recommended in January 2007. US conservatives are encouraged to sign the pledge. The Pledge was endorsed by prominent conservative bloggers Hugh Hewitt [http://hughhewitt.townhall.com/g/08867f1b-7bb8-437b-9c29-b67b512de4b9] and Glenn Reynolds [http://instapundit.com/archives2/2007/01/post_1978.php] and by a posting at the RedState website [http://www.redstate.com/stories/congress/we_must_not_falter_we_must_not_fail] .

Blogger Glenn Greenwald criticized the the Pledge as follows: "The idea that Americans should refrain from debating the propriety of using military force is about as foreign to our political traditions as anything can be."
