Adolf Friedrich IV (5 May 1738-2 June 1794) was a Duke of Mecklenburg [-Strelitz] .
Biography
He was born in Mirow to Duke Karl Ludwig Frederick of Mecklenburg-Strelitz (1708-1752) and his wife Princess Elizabeth Albertine of Saxe-Hildburghausen. His father was the second son of Duke Adolf Frederick II.
He was the heir presumptive of Mecklenburg-Strelitz from the death of his father on the 5 June 1752, until he succeeded his uncle Duke Adolf Friedrich III on the 11 December 1752.[ [http://pages.prodigy.net/ptheroff/gotha/mecklenburg.html Online Gotha] ] In 1764 Adolf Friedrich was installed as a member of the Order of the Garter.]He never married and following his death at Neustrelitz he was succeeded by his brother Charles.
