Knox Academy is one of the few state schools (currently the only one in Scotland) to have a
Combined Cadet Force , theKnox CCF .The current cadets (as of 04/05/2008) Is run by Major George McFarlane and 2nd Lieutenant Riki Byers.
Though over one-hundred years old, the Cadet Force at Knox Academy has a low profile in the school community, although the school is supporting the Cadet's Centenary with a number of events including exhibitions, a civic reception, formal dinner and ceilidh.
The Cadet Force continues to support the development of young people situated at the school and helping them develop into the open world. Not all of the Cadets activities are military based. A lot of the things the cadets take part in are more training based such as
rock climbing ,canoeing ,abseiling ,orienteering and a multitude of other outdoor activities.External links
