James DeNoon Reymert

James DeNoon Reymert (1821–1896) was born in Farsund, Norway. He migrated to the U.S. in 1842. He died in California 1896. He was an editor, lawyer and politician.

He was the editor of the first Norwegian-American newspaper [ [http://www.uwec.edu/bawdent/geog379/Project/Websites%202003/norskad_website/norwimmig_main.htm Norwegian Immigration in Wisconsin] , University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire] in the U.S., "Nordlyset" (=The Northern Light) 1847-49, published in Muskego, Wisconsin.
