Early life

Jermay was born to a single mother, Jacqueline Jermay on March 7, 1985 in Basildon, Essex, England. His mother, unable to work, due to her recurring multiple sclerosis forced the small family to struggle throughout his childhood and from a very young age, Jermay took every opportunity he could to make do. Since the age of 6, Jermay has studied magic and magic theory, written many books on his art and has performed magic since the age of 12. His first performance was at The Outwood Community Center in Billericay, Essex, England at age 12. He wrote his first published book "7 Deceptions" (Wonder Wizards, 2000) at age 15 which reached international popularity within the magic community.

Magic career

He has performed in more than 20 countries including his native United Kingdom and the United States in venues from local taverns to the London Palladium on December 20, 2002 at the annual International Magic Convention in London, England. Best known for his use of suggestion and the use and apparent use of covert forms of psychological influence, his trademark routines are an apparently self-induced cessation of his pulse, followed by an apparent stop of a random audience member's pulse, and "The Chair Prediction," a routine in which Jermay predicts which chair a spectator will chose to sit in.Fact|date=August 2007

Luke has written a total of 33 books and manuscripts on magic and magic theory, many of which are limited-release, but 4 of which have been published by magic companies and mass-circulated. Those are "7 Deceptions" (Wonder Wizards, 2000), "Building Blocks" (Alakazam Magic, 2003), "Coral Fang" (Alakazam Magic, 2004), and "3510" (2007).

He has also worked with many other magicians and mentalists as writer, designer of psychological illusions and program consultant. His first consulting work was on season 1 of Derren Brown, Mind Control (2000) consulting for Derren Brown which he continued on seasons 2&3 of Derren Brown, Trick of the Mind (2003 - 2004). Jermay also worked with Criss Angel on seasons 1&2 of Mind Freak (2005 - 2006), and with Marco Tempest on The Virtual Magician (2004).

Current

Jermay is currently employed as talent and a consultant for Penguin Magic, a magic production company and Miss Bell Productions, an editing and publishing company. Jermay is currently in pre-production of a live magic performance in Las Vegas, Nevada. Jermay also writes as a featured columnist for the longest running and most respect industry magazine Genii in which Jermay presents his ideas and theories in a bi-monthly feature titles 'The New Mind' a collected version of these essays in preparation and will be published later this year in hardback form bringing Jermay authorship to 35 books. Jermay has also run bad press as of late by not fulfilling his writing obligations after he has been paid . Jermay has increased his visible tattooing at an alarming rate in recent months adding to his sleeves and other hidden tattoo's both sides of his neck, his face and his knuckles which display 'cool hand' a seeming tribute to the Paul Newman movie. When asked to comment on these tattoos Jermay did not respond. Jermay is now moving into the role of producer with four small 'alternative' shows planned all hosted in the downtown arts district of Las Vegas. He was seen performing at the Jeff McBride's Wonderground at the Palace Station Casino, which is supposed to run until Thanksgiving of 2008.
