intermediate school located inCornwall, Ontario ,Canada . It shares a building with the catholic high school St. Joe's. Having existed first, St. Joes uses the cafeteria and the fairly large auditorium of General Vanier.History
General Vanier was built in 1962 to house students from the overcrowded CCVS and Saint Lawrence High Schools. It was named after the governor general at the time,
Georges Vanier . It was a grades 9-12 high school until 2002 when grades 11-12 were sent to CCVS to make way for grades 7 and 8. The school was thereafter known as an Intermediate School.tudents
The approximately 700 students at General Vanier come form a wide array of ethnic and
socio-economic backgrounds. Approximately half of the school is white with the other half being either native Mohawk students from nearbyAkwesasne or from the growingimmigrant community.Extra-Curricular Activities
