The Loyal Legion of Loggers and Lumbermen (the LLLL or Four L) was a
company union founded in theUnited States duringWorld War I (in 1917) by the War Department as a counter to theIndustrial Workers of the World . It rapidly rose to a high of 110,000 members, then slowly shrank until it was dissolved in 1938.
