Zarb

Zarb is one of the most common surnames in the island of Malta. Zarb is a semitic name and is phoenetically similar to other names in Middle Eastern countries such as Harb, in Lebanon.

It could also refer to the Persian musical instrument Tonbak.

In Maltese it can mean a low wall which encloses a rural field.
