Gladius DB is an object-oriented (OOP) flat-file database management system written in PHP. The database works on PHP serialized files, usually compressed, offers good support of SQL and is extremely efficient in terms of execution time. Gladius DB utilizes a filesystem similar to that of mySQL by employing the concept of tables and databases. Furthermore, it does not require any outside plugins in order to operate. Gladius DB is an opensource project licensed under the GNU GPL.
