- Aratiba
Aratiba is the 117° Municipal district created in the
Brazilian state ofRio Grande do Sul . Its began colonization in 1917.In 1919, it initiated the population that had as first denomination "Rio Novo". In 1924 was elevated to the category of 7° district of Erechim.In 1944, the village Rio Novo received Aratiba's Name, that according to etymological study, means lots of parakeets place.It was on October 19th, 1953, that initiated the action emancipate of then Aratiba's District, obtaining success on June 05th, 1955 through the plebiscite accomplishment.The elevation for the Municipal district category occurred on October 04th, 1955 through the Law n°2.710, signed by the governor of the EstadoIldo Meneghetti . Officially the Municipal district was installed on January 01st, 1956.Aratiba's Municipal district meets located in the north, of Rio Grande do Sul's State, emblem with Santa Catarina to 420 km capitalPorto Alegre , and to 35 km city ofErechim .External links
