AXIS is one of the 5 operators which acquired the 3G operating license in Indonesia. The company name is PT Natrindo Telepon Seluler (NTS). The company is established by Lippo Group through Across Asia Multimedia, and provides GSM mobile communication services since April 2001. But since 2008, the brand that used by NTS is AXIS.

PT Natrindo Telepon Seluler is owned by Saudi Telecom Company of Saudi Arabia and Maxis Communications of Malaysia
