"Tee for Two " is a 1945 one-reel animated cartoon and is the 20th "Tom and Jerry" short. It was produced in Technicolor and released to theatres on July 21, 1945 by Metro-Goldwyn Mayer.

Plot

The cartoon opens on a golf course. As we shift further into the golf course, we find total destruction: patches of grass are missing, posts are broken, golf clubs are bent out of shape and we hear the sound of a golf club striking a ball over and over. As the camera pans, we ironically see a "PLEASE REPLACE DIVOTS" sign, and that Tom is trying to hit a ball out of a giant divot. He excavates deeper into the hole and finally hits the ball out on his 50th attempt. He runs to the green and takes out the flag so the ball can go into the hole. But when it does, it quickly bounces out. Tom is a little surprised by this so he decides to lift the green and roll the ball into the hole, which proceeds to jump itself out again. Tom then putts the ball into the hole and it comes out again. He then shoves the ball into the hole and it comes out lodging into his eye. It is then revealed that Jerry lives in the hole on the golf course and he was the one throwing the ball out. Jerry looks at Tom with a golf ball stuck in Tom's eye and Jerry draws an eyeball on it. Tom then tries to hit Jerry with his club but it ends up wrapping around his neck. Jerry escapes temporarily, but is caught when Tom hits his golf ball and it hits Jerry on the head, knocking him silly.

The next scene shows that Jerry is being used as a tee and Tom places a ball on his head. Tom then readies his shot which makes Jerry nervous and Tom swings, and a patch of ground where the ball and Jerry was flies off as his club comes into impact. Tom then looks far off into the distance to see where his ball is, but Jerry whistles to him that he had the ball the whole time. Tom then puts Jerry through the ball cleaner. Jerry then responds by spitting soapy water in Tom's face.

As Tom gets set up for his next shot, Jerry is holding the tee with the ball on it. Tom hits the ball and so proud of his shot that he smiles a big smile with his teeth showing. The ball then hits a rock and bounces directly back the way it came - back through Tom's smile, and the ball shatters all his teeth.

Next up Tom's ball is in front of two skinny, long trees. Tom can't stand behind his ball to hit it so he is forced to split the trees to hit his ball which he does. However, the trees smash his head, apparently decapitating him, and Tom's body comes around and stands directly under it, somehow reattaching the head to the body.

The ball lands through a tree and triggers a "slot machine". Tom gets three lemons and peeks inside the trunk, but a whole bunch of golf balls come out of the tree, tripping the cat. The cat returns to his game, but Jerry has replaced his ball with an egg. After Tom hits the egg, a woodpecker hatches out of the egg and comes back to peck on Tom's head, and then to peck out the blade of the golf club such that the head lands on Tom's head.

Tom tries to hit another ball, but Jerry hollowed it out so he can't hit it. Tom then places the shell on to Jerry's head and swings at the mouse, making a successful green shot. Jerry, with the ball still on his head, dances around the hole, and Tom shoves him in after making sure that nobody is looking. Tom then takes out his scorecard and tries to figure out his score for the hole. He writes down a 3 in his card (for 3 over par), but Jerry scolds him and the cat writes 33 over par instead.

Tom sets up the ball for the next hole, but Jerry ties a string around the head of the club to Tom's tail. When Tom hits the ball he flies toward the hole and into it, leaving only his head exposed. Jerry sets up a putt and hits the ball toward Tom's mouth. Jerry then hits Tom on his head and the ball rolls into Tom's mouth causing him to swallow the ball. Jerry runs away and Tom, incensed, emerges from the hole, tries to follow, but keeps stepping on his own clubs. Then Tom hits a ball toward Jerry with some backspin on it, which scoops up the mouse and brings him back to Tom. Tom then hits Jerry and the ball which causes a small carpet of grass to fly around. Jerry uses this like a plane and drops the golf ball on Tom like a bomb. Tom digs a trench to protect himself and the ball opens to reveal a smaller black ball. Tom picks up the black ball, which explodes.

Meanwhile, Jerry's little carpet plane falls into a tree which Tom pokes at with the club, and Jerry then grabs the club and pokes Tom with it. Tom then climbs into the tree and Jerry drops a beehive into the open tree. Tom wears the beehive like at a hat and soon realizes what is around him. He dives into and out of the tree and hides in a bush. Jerry, not to be denied the pleasure of humiliating the cat, then runs the bush over with a lawn mower revealing Tom shaved like a French Poodle. The bees then chase Tom over a lake where a blade of bamboo is seen. Under the water is Tom, who is using the blade of bamboo like a snorkel so he can hide underwater. Jerry then whistles to get the bees' attention, turns the "150 yds." sign around to say "Guess Who?", and the bees fly to the blade. The head bee looks through the bamboo blade to see Tom, so he spits water at the bees. Jerry then places a funnel on top of the bees and they dive bomb through the blade into Tom's mouth. The water is shown for a few seconds, with a drum roll playing, and then Tom then lets out an enormous scream and runs away. Jerry then takes a club and hits a long drive which hits Tom square on the head from a far distance.
