This land snail was endemic to the
Cape Reinga area ofNorthland in theNorth Island ofNew Zealand .hell description
The subspecies appears to have been directly ancestral to "
Placostylus ambagiosus paraspiritus ". It has the same rounded outer lip callus, but it has a stronger development of the two outer-lip processes, as well as the basal liptubercle .The shell height is up to 83 mm, and width up to 36 mm.
