Location

Summit is a ministry of Muskoka Baptist Conference (MBC), near Port Sydney, Ontario.

Indoor Classes

Summit provides students with a year's worth of regular Bible college courses, but each course is modular and is completed within a week. This results in a lot of overtime work for students, but also allows for well-known professors to be flown in from all over North America for the week.

Outdoor Classes

Summit Students receive instruction and certification in a large variety of outdoor pursuits, and are given many opportunities to put their skills to use. There are canoe trips, winter camping trips, paddling classes, rock and ice climbing classes, snowboarding and cross-country skiing classes, Wilderness Advanced First Aid classes, and the year ends with a five-week trip through Arkansas, paddling, climbing, and camping.

Facilities

Students originally stayed and held classes in MBC buildings, until Founder's Hall was built in year 8 of Summit (2003). The new building contains dorm-style rooms for students and interns, a small apartment for staff or interns, several lounge areas, a computer lab, offices, and a classroom. Students are well fed by the MBC Dining Room, and have access to the "Hub" (short-order kitchen), and the MBC Bookstore, Chapel, and Fellowship Hall (gym). Due to the wide variety of outdoor skills students acquire while at Summit, they also have access to the following:

Interns
*There are 4-6 interns selected from students who apply each year to return for a second year at Summit. Interns receive certifications to instruct outdoor classes the next year, and become an integral part of the community as leaders and friends.

Boundless

In 2006, Summit piloted a new program called Boundless, a three-month discipleship program for students aged 17-19 years. The program was discontinued after one year due to staffing changes.
