tarantula of the familyTheraphosidae . Commonly called the rose-grey, or Mexican rose, it is a very uncommon spider. It was recently a member of the genus "Brachypelma ", but was moved to "Aphonopelma ". The adult male is brown, with a black thorax, while the female is a lighter brown, with a blonde thorax. The species is said to be long lived, like their cousins the "Brachypelma s" (who commonly live from 20-25 yrs). The terrestrial "A. pallidum" will grow up to 6inch es (15 cm).
