Following the death ofManfred von Richthofen , Reinhard assumed command of Jagdgeschwader 1 (JG1) on April 22, 1918, after having commanded Jasta 6 since November 26, 1917.In July 1918, he attended the aircraft trials near
Adlershof . AfterHermann Göring finished test flying aZeppelin-Lindau D.I , Reinhard took it up for a test flight but was killed when a strut broke and the top wing collapsed. Following Reinhard's death, Göring assumed command of JG I on July 8, 1918.External links
