J.L. Ilsley High School is a Canadian high school located in Spryfield in the western part of
Nova Scotia 's Halifax Regional Municipality.It is named after
James Lorimer Ilsley , a former federal cabinet minister who served in Prime MinisterWilliam Lyon MacKenzie King 'sWorld War II government and later Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Nova Scotia.The school opened in
1971 .J.L. Ilsley is home to the Judges sports teams. They have teams in many sports, including;
hockey ,softball ,volleyball ,cross country running ,track and field ,volleyball ,soccer , andbadminton .The school is known for an unofficial holiday called Precalentines Day developed in
2004 by aPre-Calculus class.
