The German jeweller and philanthropist Heidrun Mohr-Mayer (b.
March 5 ,1942 ) was born Heidrun Steffen in the former German Hanseatic City ofDantzig , (nowGdańsk ),Poland . Mohr-Mayer was a CEO of the jewelry companyFabergé workmaster Victor Mayer from 1996 to 2001 and is a co-founder and supporter of several cultural institutions.Heidrun Mohr-Mayer was born during
World War II . In 1945, during the Allied andSoviet bombardment ofDantzig she had to flee with her mother and three sisters toSweden . She attended school there and inDǖsseldorf ,Germany where she studied sport and art education. She married the jewellerHerbert Mohr-Mayer in 1967. With him she had three sonsMarcus O. Mohr ,Daniel Mohr andPhilipp Mohr . Mrs Mohr-Mayer became instrumantal in theVictor Mayer /Fabergé family business and led the company during successful years in the late 90's. Heidrun Mohr-Mayer has been a co-founder of theElse Mayer Foundation in 2006. Subject of the institution is to award grants to women in the GermanWomans Lib Movement . She also co-founded theGünter Grass Foundation, which raises awareness of his cutltural heritage in the former German city ofDantzig .In 2000 she made a donation of the
Fabergé Amber Egg toDantzig for the city's 1000th anniversary of foundation. The gold elements and enamel detail were prepared by Victor Mayer and the amber parts (base and big and small egg with an insect inclusion) - by "Podżorski" inSopot . Total weight 213.48g, includes gold 18k 136g, amber 76g, diamond 0.2 carat, ruby 1.3 carat, sapphire 1.46 carat, arms ofGdansk - enamel. The value of the egg is 16,000 US$.External links
