Larry Norton got his first job on the radio in
Buffalo, NY in 1975 while he was freshman atBuffalo State College .Larry's love of radio began at a young age. Luckily for him,Amherst High School had a radio and TV station, and Larry found a voice at both. While working at the college radio station, he was then hired to work part time and weekends at 103.3 FM WEDG andWYSL 1400 AM. His first paying job and Larry was only 19.While still at Buffalo State Larry was promoted to the Midnight-6 AM shift on 103, and then later to the 7 PM-Midnight show, completing his first 5 years on the radio. Larry graduated from Buffalo State in
1978 and was married to his high school sweetheart Barbara in1979 . During that time Larry had been trying to get on the air atQFM97 , and was later hired in1980 after the station was re-named 97Rock. Larry was soon partnered with "The Bearman" and did mornings on 97Rock and set the Guinness Record for the longest radio broadcast (20 days) and the longest Ferris Wheel ride (at Darien Lake for 40 days), both raising thousands of dollars for local charities.On March 19th,

1985 , the station switched formats and 97Rock was taken off the air. However many of the original DJ's were re-hired and Larry returned to 97Rock in1988 . Since then, Larry Norton had been on the air every morning, most notably in recent years with his friend, the comedian Rob Lederman, Chris Klein and Russ Burton. During his years at 97Rock Larry helped to raise millions of dollars for local charities, including over $2 million for Make a Wish.Currently, his morning show "Norton in the Morning" is on
