Bhadravati is a city and a municipal council in Chandrapur district in the state of Maharashtra, India.

Demographics

As of 2001 India census, [GR|India] Bhadravati had a population of 56,679. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Bhadravati has an average literacy rate of 79%, higher than the national average of 59.5%; with male literacy of 84% and female literacy of 73%. 10% of the population is under 6 years of age.

Places of Interest

There is one ancient Jain temple located in Bhadravati.The temple belongs to Shwetamber sect of Jain religion.Also there are 2000 years old Budhist caves. It is located at Vinjasan village. These caves has hosted International Budha Dhamma conventions. Several leaders and Monks of Budha Dhamma from all over the world represent at the convention.
