Tuggeranong , the southern district ofCanberra . Stranger Pond was formed by a man-made dam across a natural drainage channel.Geography
Stranger Pond is bordered by Bonython to its east, south, and soon-to-be north as there is development of new houses that are being constructed. To the west of Stranger Pond is the
Murrumbidgee River , a major tributary of theMurray River .Wildlife
Stranger Pond is now home to much wildlife.
Pelican s andswan s can be found in and around the pond andkangaroo s and evenwombat s have been spotted.Drought
As you can see in the image to the left, the water has receded quite a lot in the past few months due to the
drought . This is a major problem for much of thedams inCanberra .
