BRIT Awards was the 27th edition of the biggest annualpop music awards in theUnited Kingdom . They are run by theBritish Phonographic Industry and took place on14 February 2007 at theEarls Court Exhibition Centre inLondon . The show, when broadcast, attracted 5.43 million viewers.The ceremony
The ceremony was hosted by
Russell Brand , withFearne Cotton interviewing winners backstage, and thevoiceover byTom Baker . The show was supposedly being broadcast live for the first time since1989 , onITV1 ; however, it was revealed to have been on a 30-second tape delay [ITV Teletext news story, 16 February 2007] . The sound occasionally dropped out, apparently in an attempt to censorstrong language ("" was always censored), although swearing byLiam Gallagher ,Simon Pegg ,Mark Owen and host Brand was nonetheless audible on the broadcast.No surprise acts or duets took place, unlike previous years.
