Rich Olive is the Iowa State Senator from the 5th District. He has served in the Iowa Senate since 2007.

Olive currently serves on several committees in the Iowa Senate - the Agriculture committee; the Commerce committee; the Local Government committee; and the Economic Growth committee, where he is vice chair. He also serves on the Economic Development Appropriations Subcommittee.

Olive was elected in 2006 with 11,224 votes (50%), defeating Republican opponent James Kurtenbach. [http://www.sos.state.ia.us/pdfs/GenOffResults.pdf]
