Sega Mega Drive system in1994 .Overview
Like most other early Football sims, World Championship Soccer 2 looks very dated in the current game market. You can choose between many different world-wide Football teams and can all the usual early-90's Fifa-esque features including choosing between difference automatic defence and attack formations and strategies. There are a number of different game play options and tournaments you can be a part of. The game even has an option to replay the games from the 1986 and 1990 World Championships.
Versions
The original game came in the well recognised blue-bordered style boxes that are common to many of the late-release
SEGA Mega Drive releases. The game was re-released eventually in the
SEGA Classic Mega Drive series. It stands out from the other titles in this series as this game clearly is not as common or successful as the rest of the titles (Cool Spot ,Shinobi III ,Tale-Spin etc) [ [http://www.guardiana.net/database/view.php?id=455#v2643 ::. Guardiana, the Mega Drive Kingdom .:: Game Informations :: Mega Drive :: World Championship Soccer II ] ] . The reasons for this version of the game remain unknown.Worth
Due to the sarcity of the original release, this version is a highly sought after game. Over the past few years (2002-present) only a handful of copies have been sold or traded across the Internet. Considering the game was granted a place in the
SEGA Classic Mega Drive series, this seems rather odd. In July 2008, a copy was sold on eBay UK for £750 [ [http://ntsc-uk.domino.org/showthread.php?t=49629&page=232 Shocking Ebay Prices - Page 232 - NTSC-uk.com Forums ] ] .The brown Classic version is not the most common game, but is far easier to track down. Copies can generally be found on European
eBay sites. This version of the game generally sells for relatively low prices.Notes
